Christian Thought & Missional Training

“Worldview” is simply the lens through which one views the world.  It is a set of answers to fundamental questions by which we make decisions, judging what is right and what is wrong.  In order to live the Christian life effectively; in order to reach a lost world; Believers must have a worldview that corresponds to reality.  In other words our worldview must hold to what is TRUE; a Biblical Worldview.  As believers, our job is to engage a lost world with that truth; to contend for the faith; to contend for the souls of mankind.  These courses are designed with that objective in mind.

CONTRADICT: All Roads Do Not Lead to the Truth

You have seen the “COEXIST” bumper stickers. We should be able to coexist peaceably and respectfully. But does that make every worldview true? It does not. As ambassadors of the Truth Himself; Jesus Christ; we need to be able to connect with those who have an incorrect worldview so we can lead them to the truth.

In this course we will look at three prevalent cults (Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness, World Mission Society Church of God) and we will look at three major world religions (Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism). We will compare them to Christianity with the hope to better equip you to engage them when they come to you – or when you go to them.

WALK AS JESUS WALKED: Making Disciples in a Broken World

Becoming a disciple of Jesus demands more than merely a deep commitment to the text and complete devotion to Christian community. The Messiah is king, and believers are called to pick up their crosses in daily pursuit after becoming like Him.

Come rediscover the fierce passion of the apostle Paul and our early Christian brothers and sisters as the rabbi leads you through cities such as Aphrodisias, Antioch Pisidia, Lystra, and Cappadocia in ancient Asia Minor.

Facilitated by Trevor Robinson in room 2204 from 6:00-7:30PM

Foundations: 11 Core Truths to Build Your Life On

Many Christians today lie their lives, plan their schedules, and use their resources completely disconnected from what they say they believe. This spiritual disconnect is the cause of so much of the stress and problems in our lives. Foundations is a fresh, innovative curriculum about the essential truths of the Christian faith and how these truths are to be lived out – in your relationships, your character, and your work. Rather than just teaching doctrinal knowledge, this course will show you how to apply biblical truths and implement them in your everyday life.

Facilitated by Pastor Mike Heath in the Worship Center from 6:30-7:30PM

DOES GOD EXIST?: The Moral Necessity of Theism

It is impossible to live as a moral relativist. Everyone believes in some standard of right and wrong, but what is that standard and where did it come from?

We will discuss the philosophical and ethical arguments for the existence of God. Without God, how can we distinguish right from wrong?

“Only if you believe in God can you give a sensible account of what it means for something to be right or wrong.” – Stephen Meyer
