Pastor Mike is a graduate of Austin Peay State University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He served five years as the lead pastor  at Lake Seminole Baptist Church, Donalsonville, Georgia.  Since July 2015, he has served on The Village Baptist Church pastoral team. Pastor Mike is married to MaryLou, who has been his best friend, soul mate, and ministry partner for nearly 31 years.  They have four children – Joshua, Jordan, Rachel, and Sarai.  They also have one grandchild, Maggy.

Pastor Mike is a Great Commission Christian, who is passionate about being in a discipleship relationship with Jesus Christ.  He is also passionate about intentionally discipling other people.  His goal is to replicate in other’s lives what God has done in his life.  To date, Mike has had the honor of discipling men who have become church leaders, at all levels.  God has enabled him to disciple, and train, over 260 pastors from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nepal, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  These men are winning people to Christ, discipling them, and planting churches all over the African continent…and beyond.

Pastor Mike is an avid college football fan.  Although it is not popular in some circles, he is unapologetically an Alabama Crimson Tide fan.  To him, there is only one correct chant – “Roll Tide” – during the collegiate football season.
